Deborah Abramson Kroll

Head of Strategy and Partnerships

Deborah Abramson Kroll has worked for UKRI since 2018. Before joining Smart Data Research UK, she managed grant portfolios in digital humanities, responsible AI, and the creative industries for the Arts and Humanities Research Council.

Originally from the US, Deborah has overseen technology strategy and development for the Pew Charitable Trust’s Cultural Data Project (now SMU DataArts, the National Center for Arts Research) and has led teams delivering information services in the education and arts sectors. 

Deborah Abramson Kroll has an MA in Public Humanities from Brown University and a BA in English Literature from Columbia University. She is Chair of Trustees for Neon Dance, a company that explores contemporary dance, technologies and design.
