Claire Burgoyne Lyttle
Senior Communications Manager
Claire Burgoyne Lyttle is an experienced communications professional with a background in broadcasting. As Senior Communications Manager with the Smart Data Research UK team, she is responsible for communicating the work of the programme, plus engaging with partners, stakeholders and the public.
Before this role, Claire was Head of Development for Below the Radar, an independent television production company in Belfast. Here she developed documentaries and series ideas for the non-fiction space.
Previously, Claire Burgoyne Lyttle was a Programme Manager with Catalyst, an independent, non-profit science and technology hub focused on fostering innovation and entrepreneurship in Northern Ireland. She led the Generation Innovation programme for young people and oversaw the production of the annual Knowledge Economy Index report.
Claire’s career began at the BBC, working first as a radio journalist and later as a documentary producer, producing programmes for BBC Radio Ulster, BBC Radio 3 and BBC Radio 4. Highlights include a documentary, Getting the French to Work, featuring the then French finance minister Christine Lagarde and The Ice Cream Man Cometh, a programme looking at the environmental work of Ben and Jerry’s founder Jerry Greenfield.
