Monday 24 February 2025, 10:00am – 4:00pm
The Imagery Data Service, Imago, has announced its first community engagement event.
Imago is one of Smart Data Research UK’s new family of six data services.
The one-day workshop will be held in person on Monday, 24 February, in London.
During a series of sessions, participants will consider how satellite imagery might respond to the critical lack of data relating to wellbeing, prosperity, and sustainability in the UK.
The Imago team wants to explore the existing data gaps and consider how satellite imagery-based data products can help.
The event will consist of short talks, group discussions, and informal networking.
The venue is The Alan Turing Institute at the British Library.
Who should attend?
Imago is keen to hear from UK social science and health researchers and policymakers.
Practitioners and stakeholders working in domains related to health, economic development, and environmental sustainability are also very welcome.
About Imago
Funded in October 2024, Imago’s mission is to unlock the potential of satellite imagery to provide a much richer understanding of urgent challenges facing the UK.
It will adopt a highly innovative approach, combining novel computing and AI methods with stakeholder collaboration to develop new data products at scale.
These new datasets, along with training and research, will help address pressing issues in a number of fields. Areas of focus include environmental vulnerability, urban development and housing, inequalities, and wellbeing.
